I stumbled into the world of photography when I purchased my first camera several years ago. Self-taught, I enjoy the challenge of trying to capture and create beautiful images. Every day offers an opportunity to learn something new and a new chance to photograph something remarkable.

Raised on a farm outside of the small town of New Glarus, Wisconsin, I spent many of my formative years in and around Madison and also traveling throughout the American Midwest. I call Madison home and live with Steve, the world's smartest cat (if you don't believe me, just ask him).

Both Steve and I are now embarking on a truly magnificent voyage. For the foreseeable future we will be touring through the western United States, Alaska, and Canada. My mission? To immerse myself in the world of photography and capture at least one amazing photograph every day for the next two years. I plan to visit the canyons of Utah, the coast of California, the mountains of Colorado, the slopes of Alaska, and the many interesting people and places we meet in between.

My base of operation is Havre, Montana...a small town only 40 miles south of the Canadian border and striking distance from Banff and Jasper National Parks in Canada, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and many other beautiful places, people and things.

Having already traveled through much of the United States, I still love and appreciate the beauty unique to my home, Wisconsin, and the American Midwest. A right brain person who worked many years in a left brain job, photography has become a means for me to stoke my creative fires and share with others how I see the world through my eyes.
