Inspired by the pursuits of a large artistic family, I began exploring the world through photography at an early age. I spent much of my childhood documenting family trips, gatherings, and the natural world around me in order to preserve a lifetime of memories. For my seventeenth birthday, I was given my first SLR camera, which I learned to use through experimentation on a family trip through Hungary, Italy, Germany, Austria, Croatia and Slovenia. Since then I have photographed my travels through Costa Rica, the Caribbean Islands, and much of the United States. Originally from New York City, my love for new places and experiences inspired me to move to Pennsylvania, Indiana, Virginia, New Jersey, Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Illinois -- all in under five years. I went to Muhlenberg College, where I studied Theatre Direction, and Anthropology. For me, photography serves as a way to fuse the studies of art and culture, as I continue to explore the world around me. After serving as a freelance photographer for several theater companies and children's portrait companies, I decided to start my own business. Jordana Wright Photography is my dream for the future -- an opportunity to photograph weddings, reunions, events, team sports, and portraits in my own signature style. I bring my love and understanding of art and culture to each shoot, providing a unique perspective in order to preserve a lifetime of memories for my clients.
